When I was young, I was pseudo-diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Technically I have not been diagnosed because my psychiatrist doesn’t like labeling people. He would rather treat the symptoms as if they were the disorder. I didn’t find out about my possible diagnoses until my early teens. This photo is part of a larger series exploring my confusion and the disconnect I felt with my identity. However, this photo deviates a bit, and actually addresses my experience with my diagnosed disorder: ADHD. Specifically, the photo deliberates both my feelings and the cultural expectations of medication.
